A multi pattern studio condenser mic, like no other.
Sony C100 is a truly hi-res microphone, ready to capture incredible detail for orchestral recordings, subtle vocal nuances, rich string overtones and just about any other task you’ve got prepared.
Unlike most multi-pattern studio condensers, it’s not ‘just’ a dual diaphragm microphone, C100 is actually a dual capsule microphone – which help achieve the vast frequency detail.
There’s a 25mm diaphragm to ‘just’ take care of your 20Hz – 25kHz frequencies, while the 17mm perched on top of that will take it from 25kHz all the way up to 50kHz.
The Devil is not in the Detail
With all that extra information in the top end comfortably collected by C100, it can truly lay claim to being a ‘high resolution’ studio microphone, allowing your hi-res signal chain to breathe easily when it’s time to mix – or even make critical microphone placement decisions at the start of your session.
Controls
On the front of the mic, you’ll see the polar pattern selector, offering you Cardioid, Omnidirectional and Figure-8.
Turn the mic around, and you’ll see the Pad switch (0 or -10dB) and the Low Cut switch (flat or lowcut).
