We’ve known and loved the KMS105 supercardioid stage mic for a very long time. Have you checked out the KMS104 cardioid variants though?
Like the KMS105, this KMS104 has a 4 stage mesh pop filter – the difference being a nice, tight cardioid pickup pattern.
A full frequency response from the brilliant and clear highs right down through the full mids and fat bottoms.
It is optimised for close miking – a fixed low cut filter compensates for ‘proximity effect’ and ensures clear bass, even if the singer’s lips touch the microphone.
The dynamic range of the KMS microphones is 132 dB, and the maximum sound pressure level is 150 dB.
