Proof that good things can indeed come in small packages, MMP-C contains all the circuitry to ensure that your hard-earned sounds are passed beautifully from your DPA Reference series capsule, through to the next stage in your chain. This ultra-compact preamp uses active drive for impedance balancing. It boasts a "slightly more musical and slightly softer character" than the other preamps in the DPA Reference Standard series. When used for an omni (4006C) or cardioid (4011C), the resulting microphone package is a mere 64mm in length, perfect to minimise the effects of shadowing from lights on longer microphone combinations.
Combine with MMC4006 to create a 4006C microphone. Other capsules to consider in the 4000 series include MMC4011 cardioid, MMC4015 wide cardioid, and MMC4017 shotgun. You may also use this preamp to match with the new twin diaphragm 2000 series, at a lower cost, including MMC2006 omni and MMC2011 cardioid capsules.
Other preamplifier models in DPA's Reference Series are: MMP-A state-of-the-art preamplifier and MMP-B preamplifier with filters.
