Rode Microphones are world famous for delivering the goods, time after time. With the July 2014 release of NT-USB, it’s no exception.
This is not the first USB microphone produced by Rode. We are already fans of their end-address dynamic USB PODCASTER mic, which is a proven winner for voiceover applications.
NT-USB steps things up a notch, looking more like the rest of the ‘NT’ range of large diaphragm studio condenser microphones, but also sports a zero-latency stereo headphone monitoring (3.5mm) jack, allowing you to monitor the microphone input in realtime, along with dials to adjust the monitoring level and mix between the computer/iPad audio and the microphone input.
NT-USB is compatible with all mainstream recording applications on both Windows and Mac OS based computers, as well as the Apple iPad using RØDE Rec, GarageBand, or any other recording app that accepts an external microphone. *Use on recent generation Apple iPad requires Apple Camera Connection Kit (sold separately).
To complete the package, a premium pop-filter is included, which fits onto the base of the mic, positioning the filter the ideal distance from the capsule to minimise plosives (hard ‘B’, ‘T’ or ‘P’ sounds that produce a harsh sound) during singing or speech. NT-USB also ships with a portable desk-moutable tripod stand, and a 6m USB cable.
