Takes an unbalanced 1/4″ output and sends it to an XLR input. You’ll need to take care of impedance matching yourself. Often this one is used for running an aux out of a console, and connecting a powered speaker for foldback (stage monitoring). XLR connector has pins 1 and 3 joined inside the XLR connector.
