Hand made in Australia, we can be assured that quality control has been taken care of. USB DI PLUS has been designed as the simplest ‘plug-and-play’ DI box for your laptop.
For your typical AV presentation, the ‘front panel’ has a Type B USB input connector for input. There is an inbuilt 24 bit High Resolution digital to analog converter (DAC) which removes the need to use a Computer’s existing internal sound card output.
USB DI PLUS installs as a fully compatible generic USB audio device, requiring no special driver program installation on Mac OSX and Win XP or later.
On the rear side of this DI, there is a pair of transformer balanced analog audio XLR Line out connectors for connecting to any standard balanced analog input. Next to these output connectors, is the very handy “Mono Output” switch, allowing for an easy sum of your outputs, in the case that you’re simply plugging into a mono sound system (or powered speaker), along with a Ground lift switch.
The Kicker:
USB DI PLUS is actually double the DI. Activate the ‘analog‘ switch, and you’ve got yourself a stereo analogue DI, bypassing all USB connectivity. Plug into the analog part of this DI with either a pair of 1/4″ jack connectors, or the very handy 1/8″ stereo minijack connector.
