On Thursday morning last week, we received a phone call that wasn’t easy to hear, and must have been even harder to make.
Jehan wasn’t coming in to work. His Dad delivered the terrible news.
For anyone who visited our store when Jay was working, you will of course remember his infectious smile and love of a laugh. Our staff who sit at the front counter will remember his constant tapping of the desk, like it was his drums or timbales.
As he wandered around restocking our shelves, Jay would often pick the most sublime harmony line to sing with whatever was playing through our store PA at the time.
You may have seen Jay around town on the weekends, camped at the FOH mix position or perhaps behind the decks. There was no doubt that Jay was loaded with musical talent and a lust for sound especially making it happen at high SPL with his own rig.
Jehan Jayasinghe, we’ll miss you and always remember the influence you had on everyone who came into contact with you.
We hope you rest in peace.
We will be remembering Jay by attending the celebration of his life on Thursday 29th September. Factory Sound will close at 2:30pm on 29th September Re-opening 10am Saturday 1st October
