DB25 loom, D-Sub Snakes
The DB25 (D-sub) connector is a great way to get multiple balanced audio lines into a small location. A most popular analogue DB25 loom is the TASCAM wired DB25 8-way balanced, and can have 8x XLR male, 8x XLR female or 8x 1/4" TRS at the other end. Many digital consoles, AD converters and patchbays use DB25 as a way to get an analogue signal flowing in and out. For digital DB25 options, such as AES/EBU or the older TDIF standard, be careful to make sure you're grabbing the correct wiring standard - AES/EBU can be wired to either YAMAHA or TASCAM standard.
